Academic Support Service

Russell Sage College students can receive valuable support to help make their college academic career a success. At the Center for Learning, Teaching and Research, students can receive tutoring, learning style assessments, assistance with time management and other study skills, and help with writing from the Writing Studio.

Tutoring Services

All undergraduate students can request one-on-one tutoring for specific subject classes or drop in on small group peer tutoring sessions for classes or subjects. Just pick up a tutor request form in the Office of Academic Services in John Paine Hall to request one-on-one tutoring services.

Individual Support

All students may also request individual help with study skills through assessment and personalized coaching by our Learning Support Specialist, Jennifer Cole. Email Jenifer Cole, colej1@sage.edu, or call 244-2208 for an academic support assessment appointment and information on study skills services.

Writing Studio

Both undergraduate and graduate students can get help with writing projects at the Writing Studio located on the second floor of Hart Hall (above the Upton Center). Stop by or call 244-6737 for an appointment.

Multimedia Resources

Books, videos, and software are available that provide instruction and tips on study skills to assist students in achieving academic success. They may be borrowed by signing out the resources from the Office of Academic Services. Students, faculty, or other organizations can request workshops on various topics such as time management and procrastination, improving study habits, and test taking and test anxiety.
